    When I detox I have always experienced for the first 3-4 days terrible pains in my (upper and lower back, when I was a smoker) lower back, running down the back of my thighs. It’s so painful/uncomfortable that I take pain killers when I can’t bear it any more. Is this to be expected? Can it be considered normal? I was told it was, years ago by the Naturopath who devised the diet but I worry that I’m damaging myself somehow

    Diet basically fruit and almonds for breakfast 5 hr gap (water only) carrots spring onions celery lettuce lemon juice &oliveoil dressing and cottage cheese lunch, dinner baked starch eg sweet potato or butternut, steamed green eg spinach with unsealed butter and same salad as lunch but no protein

    I’m 55yrs old and have done this periodically over the last 30 years and have always experienced this pain
